A New Method for the Preparation of 6-Methyl-1,2,3-oxathiazine-4(3H)-one 2,2-Dioxide, Potassium Salt (Acesulfame K) A simple two-step synthesis of the title compound, an artificial sweetener, starting from amidosulfonic acid and diketene is described.
