Wittig alkylidenations give thermodynamically governed ratios of (E) and (Z) disubstituted alkenes if run under daylight lamp irradiation. This ratio is ca. 99:1 for 1-aryl-2-alkylethenes and ca. 3:1 for 1,2-dialkylethenes.
