In the presence of cyanuric fluoride (3), alkenylboronic acids (1) reacted with α,β-unsaturated ketones (2) through 1,4-addition to give γ,δ-unsaturated ketones (4) selectively. The reaction proceeded under mild conditions, and a variety of functional groups could be introduced into the products.
