Aspekte zur Entstehung und Entwicklung suizidalen Verhaltens bei Heroinabhängigen

Zusammenfassung

Suizide und Suizidversuche gehören bei Heroinabhängigen mit einer Prävalenzrate von etwa einem Drittel zu den häufigsten Komplikationen. In dieser Studie wurden Einflussvariablen auf suizidales Verhalten Heroinabhängiger, die spezifische Nutzung des Hilfesystems sowie die Bedeutung von Überdosierungen untersucht. Hierzu wurden 350 Heroinabhängige aus verschiedenen Einrichtungen des Hamburger Drogenhilfesystems herangezogen. Heroinabhängige mit Suizidversuchen wiesen ein höheres Ausmaß biografischer Belastungsfaktoren sowie eine ausgeprägtere Persönlichkeitspathologie auf. Die Häufigkeit von Überdosierungen spiegelte das Ausmaß suizidaler Autodestruktivität wider. Hilfsangebote wurden häufiger aufgesucht und gewechselt.

Abstract

Suicides and suicide attempts of heroin addicted patients are, with a prevalence of about 30 %, among the most commonly occuring complications. For this investigation we examined the influence of biographical and personality-related factors on suicidal behaviour, the use of treatment centres as well as the role of overdoses. For this purpose, 350 heroin addicts were interviewed in different therapeutic settings of Hamburg. Heroin addicts who had previously committed suicide attempts turned out to have had a markedly higher rate of problematic life events. Also, they exhibited a more strongly marked pathology in their respective personality. The rate of occuring overdoses mirrored the grade of suicidality. These patients consulted treatment centres more regularly and changed them more frequently.
