Summary

More than fourteen different self-ligating appliances have been developed and scientifically investigated for approximately 70 years. These self-ligating appliances can be devided into two major groups. The IN-OVATION, SPEED or TIME systems are active, whereas the DAMON SL 2 and TWINLOCK are completely passive systems. In this article the treatment with the active IN-OVATION system and its four principles are explained.
