Die Van Beek-Apparatur

Zusammenfassung

Die Van Beek-Apparatur eignet sich gut zur Korrektur großer sagittaler Frontzahnstufen, sowie von tiefen und frontal offenen Bissen. Die Funktionsweise der Apparatur beruht hauptsächlich auf der Hemmung des alveolären Vertikalwachstums im Seitenzahngebiet. Dadurch wird eine Vorwärtsrotation und ein Vorwärtswachstum des Unterkiefers angeregt. Gleichzeitig werden die oberen Frontzähne retrudiert und intrudiert.
Die Apparatur hat den großen Vorteil, dass die vertikale Position der oberen Schneidezähne kontrolliert werden kann. Eine Übereruption bei Lippeneinlagerung kann so vermieden werden. Zusätzlich können die oberen Schneidezähne mit diesem Gerät auch intrudiert werden.

Abstract

The Van Beek headgear-activator works well for the correction of large overjets, deep bites and open bites. Its mode of operation is mainly based on the inhibition of the vertical development of the alveolar processes in the posterior regions, which stimulates the anterior rotational growth of the mandible, and on the retrusion and intrusion of the maxillary anterior teeth.
An important advantage of the headgear-activator is that this appliance offers control over the vertical position of the maxillary incisors. Overeruption in patients with lip interposition can be avoided and maxillary incisors can even be intruded.
