Zusammenfassung
Die Rekonstruktion beschädigter Zähne kann dank moderner Adhäsiv- und Komposittechnologien
häufig mit direkten Füllungswerkstoffen erfolgen. Ist der Schaden am Zahn jedoch von
größerem Ausmaß oder sind einzelne bzw. mehrere Zähne verloren gegangen, werden zur
Wiederherstellung der Kaufunktion und Phonetik indirekte Restaurationen (Kronen, Brücken,
Teilprothesen usw.) notwendig. Ferner muss die Rekonstruktion ästhetischen Ansprüchen
genügen.
Summary
The accuracy of an impression is crucial for the fit of a crown and consequently for
the long term stability of the prosthodontic treatment. Many material and technique
related factors have an influence on the accuracy (dimension, detail reproduction)
of the impression. With regard to the impression technique it is of major importance,
that the dentist selects the correct combination of the impression material (e. g.
viscosities, setting time, type) and impression tray (e. g. stock trays, individual
trays) according to the clinical situation.
Nowadays, most impressions are taken with C-Silicones and Polyvinylsiloxanes (PVS),
respectively. To obtain optimal results, the impression material itself has to fulfil
certain demands. This demands and the impact of the impression technique, impression
tray and viscosities on the dimensions of the cast are described using an in-vitro
study-setup. Recommendations for the correct combinations are given. Finally, a case
report shows the clinical relevance of the in-vitro measurements.
