In Germany, pediatricians usually are the general practitioners for children and adolescents.
Often the pediatrician is the first medical contact for children with behavioral and
psychiatric disorders. mental retardation, pervasive developmental disorders and syndromes
with developmental disorders usually are diagnosed and treated by neuro-pediatricians,
but also are subject to the child and adolescent psychiatrists. Many of the named
disorders need a multi-disciplinary approach and network. This will be illustrated
in case reports from the region of Passau.
