Maternal steroid hormones play a critical role in establishing the receptive phase
of implantation. In addition to that, the embryo is able to modulate endometrial molecules
during the apposition phase (chemokines) and the adhesion phase (adhesion and anti-adhesion
molecules). Moreover, the human embryo also exerts a coordinated regulation of endometrial
epithelial apoptosis during these implantation phases. In this work, we analyze the
embryonic regulation of implantation in humans using an in vitro model.
