Summary

Small-diameter panendoscopes are becoming more popular for use especially in screening programs for cancer. A comparison of four different types of endoscopes clearly demonstrates that all the instruments meet the requirements for an adequate examination of all parts of the upper GI-tract. In addition a questionnaire of patients already examined shows the good acceptance of the small-diameter panendoscopes.
