Significance
The authors are able to synthesize ring-annulated porphyrins 5-7. Previously reported compound 1 was functionalized further at one or both β,β′-pyrrolic faces for the synthesis of trisquinoxalinoporphyrin 5 and tetrakisquinoxalinoporphyrin 6. Compound 7 was synthesized by condensation of diamino-tetrakisquinoxalinoporphyrin obtained from 3 and trisquinoxalinoporphyrin-dione.
