Abstract
Localisation and soft tissue differentiation of abdominal masses can be performed
by sonography. The method should be the first step of diagnostic procedures to avoid
unnecessary investigations. The true to scale imaging system can be used for a new
preoperative staging of solid kidney tumors which facilitates the decision as to a
preoperative therapy. Sonographic follow-up investigations can safely control the
preoperative treatment.
Zusammenfassung
Die Sonographie erlaubt eine rasche topographische Zuordnung und Weichteildifferenzierung
einer abdominellen Raumforderung. Ihr Einsatz zu Beginn der Diagnostik ermöglicht
den rationellen Einsatz anderer bildgebender Verfahren. Die maßstabsgerechte Abbildungstechnik
sollte zu einer präoperativen Stadieneinteilung von soliden Nierentumoren genutzt
werden, da diese die Entscheidung über die Notwendigkeit einer präoperativen Vorbehandlung
des Tumors erleichtert. Durch sonographische Verlaufskontrollen kann das Ansprechen
des Tumors auf die Vorbehandlung überwacht und das Bestrahlungsfeld den veränderten
Bedingungen angepaßt werden.
