Von 203 mastektomierten Frauen hatten 17% eine Phantombrust, jedoch keine Phantomschmerzen.
Ver schiedene Besonderheiten der Phantombrust wie spe zielle Begleitempfindungen,
reines Mamillenphantom oder zeitlich terminiertes Auftreten werden dargelegt. Zusammenhänge
zwischen der Phantombrust und Depressionszuständen werden aufgezeigt und die Ergeb
nisse mit der Literatur verglichen. Unterschiedliche Theorien zur Entstehung des Phantomphänomens,
insbe sondere des Brustphantoms, werden diskutiert.
Abstract
Out of 203 women who had undergone mastectomy, 17% had a phantom breast, although
none had phantom pain. Various particularities of the phantom breast, such as specific
associated sensations, nipple phantom alone or occurrence only at certain times, are
presented. The relation between phantom breast sensations and states of depression
are shown, and these results compared with those in the literature. Different theories
as to the origin of the phenomenon of phantoms, especially the phantom breast, are
discussed.
