Summary

In every case it is very important to get the vital sensation of the patient. While narrating the patient gives many different sensations and in that case it is very difficult to come to what is the unique vital sensation. One way to find it – an innovation of Dr. Sankaran – is to observe the hand gestures of the patient while he is narrating. Just ask the patient to explain the experience about the hand gesture he is repeatedly making and there we can get the vital sensation of that patient. This method has helped in many cases especially with patients who are excessively loquacious, very intelligent, as well as patients who don't talk much, because at one point or another the patient is definitely going to move his hands where the real energy lies. We have to just pick up on that and go with the flow, as the patient himself takes us to final destination i.e. to his vital sensation: from local phenomenon to global.
