Idiopathic urethritis is a disorder that typically occurs in male children between
the ages of 5 and 15 years. The commonest symptoms are blood stained urethral discharge,
urethral bleeding between episodes of micturition and dysuria. As the aetiology is
poorly understood, there is no reliable means of treating this condition. In this
case report we describe the use of intravesical steroid instillation in such patients
to alleviate symptoms.
