Introduction

Previous studies have reported a decreased incidence of allograft rejection and better allograft function in multiorgan transplant recipients (e.g., heart-lung, heart-kidney). This suggests an altered immune response to a multiorgan allograft milieu. We report data from our own experience (all patients receiving heart and lung from the same donor) and recently published data from other centers on acute allograft rejection and long-term outcome after multiorgan transplantation (Tx).
