Zusammenfassung
Der Einsatz des Personal-Computers in den letzten zwei Jahren in der DM-Ambulanz unserer
Klinik hat nicht nur die statistische Auswertung erleichtert, sondern eigentlich erst
ermöglicht. Der logistisch wichtigste Punkt dabei ist die Datenerfassung, da nur mit
strikter Dateneingabe das System funktioniert. Das Arbeiten mit dem PC erstreckt sich
von der Datenverwaltung über die Textverarbeitung, statistischen Auswertung hinüber
zur Erstellung der Graphiken, die über ein Dia-Ausgabesystem funktioniert. Weiters
sind Ausbaustufen wie Datex-P-Anschluß an Literatur-Datenbanken sowie Vermehrung der
PC-Arbeitsplätze in Entstehung. Wissenschaftliche Arbeiten sind nach dreijähriger
PC-Praxis ohne das Werkzeug PC nicht mehr vorstellbar.
Summary
During the last 2 years, a personal computer in the special diabetes department of
Innsbruck University Eye Hospital has not merely facilitated statistical analysis;
without the PC such analysis would not have been possible. Logistically, the most
important function is data acquisition, because the system only works if all data
are entered. In addition to data processing, word processing, statistical analyses,
and chart processing using graphics software are all done on the PC. The system is
currently being developed further to include online access to literature databases
via Datex-P and additional workstations. After 3 years of experience with the PC it
is difficult to imagine doing scientific work without it.
