Zur Kontrastverstärkung gyralen Musters bei herpes-simplex-induzierter Enzephalitis

Zusammenfassung

Die bei einem Fall von herpes-simplex-induzierter Enzephalitis computertomographisch dargestellte, beide Großhirnhemisphären involvierende Kontrastverstärkung gyralen Musters wird hinsichtlich ihrer Genese untersucht. Dabei dürfte der in den betroffenen Arealen erhöhte Kontrastmittelgehalt aus der pathologischanatomisch nachweisbaren starken Gefäßproliferation sowie aus einem raschen Kontrastmittelaustausch zwischen kapillarem und interstitiellem Raum resultieren. Zum Teil differente Befunde anderer Autoren werden diskutiert.

Summary

A case of herpes simplex encephalitis was examined by computer tomography. Both cerebral hemispheres showed contrast enhancement of the gyri. The cause of this is considered. The increased contrast medium accumulation in the affected areas is probably due to the marked vascular proliferation which can be demonstrated anatomically, and to the rapid escape of contrast from the capillaries into the interstitial spaces. The findings of other authors, which differ somewhat, are discussed.
