Zusammenfassung
Die ESWL findet auch bei Kindern zunehmende Verbreitung. Zur adäquaten Behandlung
dieser Patienten sind meist technische Modifikationen der Lithotriptoren notwendig.
Die Verwendung des Lithostar Plus Overhead-Moduls von Siemens erfordert die zirkuläre
Kompression des Wasserkissens zur Reduktion des Anpreßdruckes, Verkleinerung der Koppelfläche
und Verlängerung der Wasservorlaufstrecke. Mit dem so modifizierten Therapiekopf konnten
bei 3 Kinder im Alter zwischen 9 Monaten und 8 Jahren Nierensteine erfolgreich und
komplikationslos behandelt werden. Bei einem 12jährigen Jungen gelang die Desintegration
eines Pankreasgangsteines. Die Vorteile des Lithostar Plus Overhead-Moduls zur ESWL
bei Kindern liegen in der Ultraschallortung, komfortablen Patientenlagerung und dem
konzeptionsbedingten Lungenschutz bei gleichzeitig hoher Effektivität der Stoßwellenquelle.
Abstract
ESWL is becoming more common in the treatment of children. For suitable application,
technical modifications are necessary in the majority of lithotripters. Using the
Siemens Lithostar Plus Overhead Module, a circular compression of the watercushion
is essential to decrease coupling pressure, reduce the coupling surface area and to
reduce the focal distance. With this modified therapy unit, 3 children aged between
9 months and 8 years with renal stones were treated successfully without complications.
A stone in the pancreatic duct was disintegrated in a 12 year-old-boy. The advantages
of the Lithostar Plus Overhead Module for ESWL in children are ultrasound localisation
with X-ray exposure, comfortable positioning and lung protection due to the technical
design in combination with a highly effective shock wave source.
