Die urologische Spirale - eine Alternative zum Dauerkatheter

Zusammenfassung

Die “urologische Spirale”, eine Endoprothese zur Überwindung einer prostataadenombedingten infravesikalen Obstruktion, wurde bei 11 Patienten eingelegt. Die ordnungsgemäße Plazierung der Spirale gelang bei 10 von diesen Patienten. Als Langzeitkomplikationen kam es in einem Fall zur Dislokation der Prothese in die Blase nach 2 Monaten und in einem anderen Fall zur Steinobstruktion der Prothese nach 6 Wochen. Bei den übrigen 8 Patienten besteht eine anhaltende, schmerzlose und infektionsfreie Funktion der Prothese.

Abstract

The “Urologische Spirale”, a new device to overcome obstruction of the prostatic urethra in patients who cannot be treated by endoresection, has been applied for 11 patients under local anaesthesia. In one of the cases introduction of the device was not possible. Two late complications occured: one dislocation after 6 weeks and one stone formation inside the device leading to obstruction, pain and infection. 8 of the patients tolerated the device well. It seems to be a good alternative to chronic catheterisation.
