Abstract

Case report of a primarily asymptomatic, non-dislocated fracture of the dens axis in a multiply injured child. The occurrence of injury, diagnosis and course are described. With reference to the available literature, the necessity for detailed X-ray examination of the cervical spine in cases of severe head injury is emphasised.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird über eine primär asymptomatische und nicht dislozierte Densfraktur bei einem multitraumatisierten Kind berichtet. Unfallhergang, Diagnostik und Heilverlauf werden dargestellt. Unter Bezugnahme auf das vorliegende Schrifttum wird auf die Notwendigkeit einer eingehenden Röntgendiagnostik der HWS bei schweren Schädel-Hirn-Traumata hingewiesen.
