Abstract

The auditory brain stem potentials and the stapedius reflex responses were examined in 18 cases of space-occupying lesions of the brain stem in infants and children. Our findings were compared retrospectively with objective observations from other investigations such as the CT scan, the findings on surgery, and autopsy. This comparison supplied evidence on the reliability of the auditory brain stem potentials and the stapedius reflex responses in case of space-occupying lesions of the brain stem.
