Abstract

A case of solitary cyst of the anterior half of the tongue in a newborn baby is presented. Excision of the lesion was performed at the age of two days with satisfactory cosmetic and functional results. Histologically, the cyst consisted of a simple, fibrous wall lined with squamous and ciliated columnar epithelium.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird über einen Fall von solitärer Zyste der vorderen Zungenhälfte bei einem Neugeborenen berichtet. Die Exzision der Zyste wurde im Alter von 2 Tagen mit befriedigendem kosmetischen und funktioneuen Resultat vorgenommen. Histologisch hatte die Zyste eine einfache fibröse Wand, die mit Platten- und zylindrischem Flimmerepithel ausgekleidet war.
