Abstract

A case study of a new born affected by jejunal atresia, with parenteral feeding by central venous catheter is presented.

During the clinical course, a perforation of the subclavian vein occurred, followed by hydrothorax caused by extravasation of the parenteral feed solution into the pleural space.

The clinical course was excellent after performing a pleural puncture and drainage of the hydrothorax.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird über ein Neugeborenes mit Jejunumatresie, bei dem die parenterale Ernährung über einen zentralen Venenkatheter erfolgte, berichtet. Während der Klinikbehandlung entstand eine Perforation der Vena subclavia. Die Folge war ein Hydrothorax, der durch Übertritt der parenteralen Nährlösung in die Pleurahöhle zustande kam. Nach Anlegung einer Pleuradrainage war der weitere klinische Verlauf ungestört.
