Significance

Neopeltolide, a marine macrolide isolated from the sponge related to genus Daedalopelta sollas, inhibits the proliferation of adenocarcinoma, ovarian sarcoma and murine leukemia. The Prins cyclization to form the pyran ring in I features as the key step.
