Soft tissue tumors may be the most diagnostically challenging lesions in pathology.
Although clinical features and morphologic pattern are the gold standard for the diagnosis
of soft tissue lesions, immunohistochemistry can confirm the phenotype, or resembled
cell of origin, and sometimes the biologic potential of the lesion. This article discusses
the role of immunohistochemistry in the diagnosis of soft tissue tumors.
