Abstract
Aortic disease has a high rate of morbidity and mortality, and there are no documented
screening methods to date. Yet biochemical research does show a significant link between
soluble receptor for advanced glycation end-products (sRAGE) protein and cardiovascular
disease. Therefore, it can be hypothesized that sRAGE plasma levels may help differentiate
patients with aortic disease from the general population, which this paper will review
and present.
