Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is an emerging disease. It is defined as a chronic
hypersensitivity disease characterized by localized inflammation of the esophagus.
Here we present a focused summary of current medical understanding of the disease,
including the diagnostic criteria, management approaches and future directions of
research.
