Abstract

Actinomycosis is a bacterial infection caused by Actinomyces species that are commensal in the human oral cavity, digestive tract, and genital tract. The present case highlights actinomycosis of the hypopharynx, mimicking malignancy in ¹⁸F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography.
