Zaheer Nabi et al. Peroral endoscopic myotomy in treatment-naïve achalasia patients
versus prior treatment failure cases
This study in 502 patients with achalasia demonstrates that peroral endoscopic myotomy
achieves similar clinical success in patients with and without prior treatments. The
operative time may be significantly longer in patients with prior treatment, but there
is no difference in adverse events between the two groups.
