Germana de Nucci et al. Efficacy of a novel self-assembling peptide hemostatic gel as rescue therapy for refractory acute gastrointestinal bleeding

A novel self-assembling peptide gel was investigated as rescue therapy for acute GI bleeding, mainly of iatrogenic origin, in 77 patients. Application of the gel was found to be feasible, safe, and effective in controlling GI bleeding after failure of conventional hemostatic methods.
