Olaya I. Brewer Gutierrez et al. Is transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) an
answer to postperoral endoscopic myotomy gastroesophageal reflux? A multicenter retrospective
study
Transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) was performed on 12 patients with gastroesophageal
reflux (GER) after peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) in this retrospective study.
Short-term follow-up showed a significant reduction in proton pump inhibitor (PPI)
use and improvement in reflux symptoms after TIF, along with pH normalization in 4/7
patients tested. TIF may be an endoscopic management option for severe GER after POEM,
but larger scale studies are needed.
