Significance

Substituted cyclopropanes are important building blocks in organic synthesis. The authors report a highly regio- and stereoselective hydroalkynylation of methylene cyclopropenes providing substituted cyclopropanes. This report represents a rare example of the addition of a simple terminal alkyne to cyclopropene. The regioselectivity of the hydronickelation is also noteworthy.
