Zusammenfassung

Das Shared Decision Making-Modell (SDM, deutsch: partizipative Entscheidungsfindung PEF) ist die Beschreibung einer Arzt-Patient-Interaktion, in der medizinisch notwendige Entscheidungen – ob zu diagnostischen oder therapeutischen Zwecken – nicht von einem Interaktionspartner allein, also weder nur vom Arzt (Paternalismus) noch allein vom Patienten (Konsumismus) entschieden werden, sondern in dem beide gemeinsam eine verantwortliche und verbindliche Entscheidung treffen. Die dafür nötigen Voraussetzungen und die Konsequenzen werden erläutert. Die Entwicklungen in Deutschland und die Zugangswege zu dem Modell werden aufgezeigt. Es wird auf das Potenzial hingewiesen, das der Psychosomatik und Psychotherapie zur Ausgestaltung dieses Verhältnisses zur Verfügung steht.
