Significance

The synthesis of a self-threading polythiophene (P1) with a high intrawire hole mobility of 0.9 cm² V s is reported. The polyrotaxane-like architecture prevents electronic communication between polymer fibers and extends the effective conjugation length of the interior polythiophene backbone.
