The terms upper and lower lid blepharoplasty for periocular rejuvenation appear progressively limiting for those undertaking management of this sensitive area. Over recent years, a better understanding of both applicable anatomy and the involutional changes that characterize aging in this region has led us to rethink our options of surgical and nonsurgical management. This progressive evolution of our understanding and the available treatment options will soon render passé what we regard today as state of the art.

We present in this issue a few personalized approaches to periocular rejuvenation. These approaches should be read and undertaken in conjunction with one's personal experience and constant inquisitive self-critique. Regular reevaluation of one's outcome best ensures a better result for our trusting patients.

I hope you enjoy reading this publication. My thanks to all those who have contributed: the authors, Thieme publishing house, and all our patients who have willingly entrusted us to rejuvenate their eyes.
