Zusammenfassung

Knorpelschäden in unseren Gelenken stellen häufig den Ausgangspunkt für das Entstehen einer Arthrose dar. Zahlreiche Therapien sind in den letzten Jahren entwickelt wor-den, um eine optimale Behandlung zu ermöglichen und das Entstehen einer Arthrose zu verhindern oder bei entstandener Arthrose dem Patienten Lebensqualität zurückzugeben. Die Behandlung der Knorpelschäden muss individuell und stadiengerecht erfolgen. Der vorliegende Beitrag gibt eine Übersicht über den aktuellen Stand der Behandlungsmöglichkeiten bei Knorpelschäden mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf dem Kniegelenk. Auf die Behandlung einer manifesten Arthrose wird ebenfalls kurz eingegangen.

Summary

Cartilage damages in our joints often mean the origin for the development towards osteoarthritis. In the last decades numerous therapies have been developed to find an optimal treatment and to avoid the arthritis or to give back the quality of life to a patient with osteoarthritis. The treatment of the cartilage damage should be planned individually and according to the different stages. This article gives an overview of the state of the different possibilities of treatment with a strong emphasis on the knee joint. A short part deals with the treatment of a manifest osteoarthritis.
