The Guest Editors of this issue of Seminars in Neurology are Drs. Navdeep Sangha and Koto Ishida.

Dr. Sangha is a vascular neurologist, and is Co-assistant Chief of Neurology at Kaiser Permanente in California. He received his BS from the University of California, Irvine, in Biology, and his MD from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Punjab, India. He did his Neurology Residency at Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles Medical Center, followed by a Stroke Neurology Clinical and Research Fellowship at the University of Texas at Houston, Texas Medical Center. He currently serves as Regional Stroke Lead of the Southern California Permanente Medical Group, and Regional Lead of the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Tele-Stroke Program. He is well published in the field of stroke, with a particular focus on acute stroke interventions, telestroke, and timely interventions in stroke, including endovascular therapies. He has served as principal investigator (PI) or co-PI for several important clinical trials of stroke and acute stroke.

Dr. Ishida is Associate Professor of Neurology at New York University, the Medical Director of Stroke, and Clinical Director of the Center for Stroke and Neurovascular Diseases at NYU Langone Hospitals. She received her BA from the University of California, Berkeley, in Molecular Cell Biology, and her MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She was an Intern in Medicine and a Resident in Neurology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, followed by her Neurovascular Fellowship, also at Penn. She won numerous teaching awards during her time at NYU, including the prestigious Rising Educator Award from the NYU School of Medicine. Her research focus has been on transient ischemic attack and minor stroke, quality improvement, and medical education. She has served as PI or co-PI for numerous national and international stroke trials. She is a well-known leader on the national scene at the American Academy of Neurology and American Heart Association, including serving as Vice Chair on the Stroke Performance Measures Oversight Committee of the Stroke Council of the American Heart Association.

We greatly appreciate the efforts of Drs. Sangha and Ishida, as well as all of the contributing authors, for their wonderful work in this issue of Seminars on stroke, and I'm quite certain that there will be something in this issue for every practicing neurologist. They have put together an all-star cast, with informative and insightful articles that provide up-to-date, clearly written reviews on a variety of important stroke topics. We hope you enjoy this wonderful issue!
