Noriko Matsuura et al. Incomplete resection rate of cold snare polypectomy: a prospective
single-arm observational study
This multi-endoscopist, single-center study examined incomplete polyp resection using
a cold snare for 307 small (1–9 mm) neoplastic polyps in 120 patients. Using endoscopic
mucosal resection of the resection site margins as the measure for incomplete resection,
the authors reported an incomplete resection rate of 4%. The goal to assess incomplete
resection by examining the lateral margins of removed polyps was not accomplished,
because in two thirds of polyps the margins were inadequate for reliable examination.
