Ulcerative colitis as an inflammatory bowel disease can be related to other diseases
of different nature. The association of ulcerative colitis with kidney disease such
as IgA Nephropathy is rarely presented and documented. This paper presents a 42-year-old
caucasian male patient with a 6-year history of proven Ulcerative Colitis with Imuran
50 mg and cortisone 5 mg therapy who was referred to the Gastroenterology Clinic with
vomiting, diarrhea and fatigue, and consequent IgA nephropathy. We can conclude that
ulcerative colitis can be related to different diseases and health conditions, thus
patients should be investigated in all aspects, especially when laboratory results
are abnormal (such as hypoalbuminemia), and the cause of which has not been argued
pathophysiology and clinically [1]
