Hadjiarapoglou and co-workers reported that the reaction of spirocyclopropane 4a under the conditions of photochemical activation (CH3CN solution, irradiation for 1 h) proceeds completely to give dihydrofuran 7a (the product yield of 7a was not described), see: Bosnidou A.-E, Kalpogiannaki D, Karanestora S, Nixas JA, Hadjiarapoglou LP.
