The methodology consisting in a one-pot copper iodide mediated 1,3-DC of O-alkyl azides derived from salicylaldehyde with O-propargyl nitroolefin bonded to the glucose unit, followed by the described 1,3-DC of the thermally generated azomethine ylide, gave slightly better yields (74–81%): Rao JN.
