Auf der Intensivstation behandelte Patienten können unter bestimmten Voraussetzungen ein erworbenes Schwächesyndrom entwickeln. Es resultiert aus mindestens drei Funktionsstörungen, die isoliert oder gemeinsam auftreten können. Weitere Risikofaktoren erhöhen die Wahrscheinlichkeit einer Erkrankung. Wie sieht die Prognose aus, ist die Frage, der sich dieser Artikel widmet.
