Significance

The authors report the use of a ­bimetallic palladium catalyst in the addition of α-cyanoacetates to enones, giving products in high yields and enantioselectivity. α-Cyanoacetates have comprised a difficult nucleophile for conjugate addition, with most published examples reporting either limited scope or enantioselectivity.
