Significance

The authors report their work on C-H bond functionalization using rhodium-porphyrinoid catalysts. Carbene insertion into primary hydrocarbon C-H bonds is reported to occur with moderate to high regioselectivity. Additionally, an enantioselective variant of the reaction is reported, giving products in moderate yield and enantio­selectivity.
