Choroid-Plexus Papilloma Associated with Hydrocephalus in Infancy – Report of Two Cases

Two cases of probably co-natal choroid-plexus papillomas in the right lateral ventricles of the brains of two female infants are reported. They caused symptoms of progressive hydrocephalus and intracranial hypertension immediately after birth and at the age of 9 months respectively. One infant died at 8 months after ventriculography. In the other girl the tumor was completely removed at the age of 10 months. 10 weeks later she succumbed, however, to recurrent intracranial hypertension in non-communicating hydrocephalus caused by basal meningeal adhesions. Diagnostic and therapeutic problems are briefly discussed.
