Abstract

In 10 males the hormones of the anterior pituitary lobe, HGH, ICSH and FSH were determined in plasma by radioimmunoassay up to 90 minutes after IV administration of 1.0 mg thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH). A significant elevation of these pituitary hormones was not observed; therefore, the thyrotropin releasing hormone is unlikely to have a stimulating effect on the output of HGH, ICSH and FSH.
