Significance

An efficient method for the Pd-catalyzed arylation of polyfluoroarenes using boronic acids has been developed. Polyfluoroarenes with various substitution patterns and functionalizations could be selectively arylated. The choice of an appropriate base with respect to the acidities of the polyfluorobenzenes used is hereby crucial for achieving a broad substrate scope.
