Introduction

The 2010 Digestive Disease Week (DDW; 1 – 5 May, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA) showed that advances in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) continue to be made, though perhaps at a relatively slower rate than a decade ago. Nonetheless, important data on topics including biliary cannulation, the use of expandable metal stents for benign disease, and biliary cellular imaging were presented at the conference and key abstracts are discussed here.
