Tinnitus ist ein Symptom verschiedener Erkrankungen und Störungen. Bei zwei Drittel der Patienten können wir von einem somatischen Tinnitus sprechen, da somatosensorische Stimuli auf das auditorische System einwirken und für zentrale Hyperaktivitäten verantwortlich sind oder sie modulieren können. Die Therapie des somatischen Tinnitus richtet sich auf eine Reduzierung der übermäßigen somatosensorischen Stimuli, die überwiegend der Kopf-Hals-Region entstammen. Als erfolgreich erweisen sich zahnärztlich-funktionstherapeutische und physiotherapeutische Maßnahmen.
